Enjoy star gazing, breathing in the fresh country air, or drinking a cup of morning coffee on the front porch, all while listening to the soothing sounds of song birds and the gentle music of wind chimes. Or do an old fashioned picnic on our grounds and fish in our pond. Bird watching on our trails and near our crawfish pond is wonderful in the early morning and evening hours. Bring your binoculars and cameras and stake out a hidden location under one of the trees off the horse trails. We have furnished the cottage with plenty of horse books...so curl up with one of 'em at night or in the heat of the day and just take a breather. Our B&B experience is designed for your peace, relaxation and rejuvenation however, if you want a little more action or activity, there's plenty else to do.

Take a short drive to Washington, Louisiana, the third oldest settlement in our state.  There you can shop at one of the largest antique malls in South Louisiana.  They have other things to see and do as well.  And minutes away in Opelousas, visit the Jim Bowie museum. Kisatchie National Forest is only an hour away as well.  Below I have placed links to some of the near by areas where you can find a list of fun things to do.  Be sure and check out the event calendars for unique festivals, which Louisiana is known for.

Opelousas, LA
Washington, LA
Lafayette, LA
Breaux Bridge, LA

This is a MUST see if you have the time.  Breath taking scenery and wildlife and just a short drive from the ranch. It's a drive through/around and you can thrown a blanket on the ground and picnic there.  I believe boat tours may also be arranged. If you really want to "feel" Louisiana, this place should be at the top of your list.
Lake Martin

In the evening, enjoy playing cards and board games, or being a couch potato and watching flicks from our old movie collection.  Or take a 6 mile drive and try your luck at the Casino or bet on a winning horse at the race track. An onsite massage for individuals or couples may also be arranged in advance either in your room or under a shade tree in the woodlands, depending upon the weather and condition of terrain. Horse back riding is also a possibility for an additional fee for to our guests. The best part of all, breakfast is delivered to your door each morning, or we will be happy to stock the refrigerator with breakfast items if you would rather whip breakfast up yourself, on your own time frame.  What ever your reason for coming, be sure and include time for just relaxing and rejuvenating to the sounds of nature and in the energy of horses.

Put on some soft music and enjoy a romantic dance outdoors in the moon light. Out here the moon seems breath takingly large if you plan your trip during a full moon and the only audience you will have are the horses  and perhaps a coyote or two.
