Ebony Masterpiece World Grand Champion 1962. His dam was a daughter of Merry Go Boy and was the forth grandson of Midnight Sun to be declared Grand Champion. When he won the championship, he had only been shown 3 or 4 other times making his new title, if not unexpected, thrilling! He was one of the most popular Champions ever with the Celebration crowd and Tennesee Walking Horse lovers in general. He went own to sire 1969 World Grand Champion Ebony's Senator. Sun's Delight World Grand Champion 1963. Sired by Midnight Sun and out of Wilson's Snip's Chance, his fourth dam was the famous foundation mare Merry Legs F-4. Known for being an extremely handsome fellow, this chestnut horse had beautiful conformation and three distinct gaits of the true walking horse. He is considered by many to be the perfect model for the breed in both looks, manners, and action. The Pusher World Grand Champion 1981. When the striking 9 year old blue roan stallion entered the show ring that year in 1981, he was greeted with thunderous applause. He is best known for his loose, easy gait, and performance style. He came out of no where in a sense with his immediate ancestry not being well known. He did however have illustrious names further back in his pedigree such as Merry Go Boy , Midnight Sun, and Wilson's Allen. Coin's Hard Cash World Grand Champion 1987. Competing against 13 other stallions that year, the decision was unamious as they proclaimed Coin's Hard Cash the new champion. Throwing a shoe, he was almost disqualified that year as the horse had just six seconds left of his allowed ten minutes to replace the shoe. His pedigree traces back to Midnight Sun. Masquerading World Grand Champion 1998. This 16 hand black roan stallion took the title with the audience coming to their feet with shouts of approval. His pedigree reads like the Who's Who of Tennesee Walking Horses including World Grand Champions Ebony Masterpiece and Threats Supreme A. He is best known for his talent and unbelievable stamina. Midnight Sun World Grand Champion 1945 & 1946. Sired 2000 foals. The first Stallion to win a Championship. He performed with lots of nod, a determined flat foot walk and and unbelieveable rocking horse canter. Horses descended from Midnight Sun have been consistent winners in the show ring. Known as one of the best 3 gaited horses of the breed, he did it all with a natural foot shod with a number 4 keg shoe and three nails to the side. Merry Go Boy World Grand Champion 1947 & 1948. In 1946, Go Boy was the Reserve Grand Champion to Midnight Sun. The following year, he staked his claim as the new World Grand Champion. He was noted for extreme nodding action along with fine conformation and a cocky attitude. He sired many World Champions and World Grand Champions and won class after class of Get of Sire. In the 1960 Breeders National Futurity alone, 24 ribbons out of 46 places awarded to weanlings and yearlings were sired by Merry Go Boy. |
