Our Boarding Philosophy

Stalling versus Pasturing
We are horse lovers and always have the best interest of the horse(s) in mind. We believe in general that horses should be boarded in paddock/pasture areas when possible. This makes for a happier, more emotionally stable steed. There are times however when this does not work. Such as horses in training and some show horses. For example, if a padded Tennessee Walking Horse is boarded, he/she must be stalled. Otherwise, he could really harm himself unsupervised in a pasture. While all of our pastures have stalls, we recommend leaving your horse turned out unless there is a specific reason not to.

Release of Liability
All boarders and their guests are required to sign a “Release of Liability”. Even if your guest does not plan to ride, there are inherent risks associated with equine activities. This agreement is mandatory.

Health Requirements

Negative Coggins & Clean bill of health from vet within the past 6 months before horse is allowed on premises.
Up to date inoculations (EEE. Rhinopneumontis, Flu, tetanus and west nile must be administered twice a year in our area for safety.) Horse should be inoculated annually with a rabies shot. It is your responsibility to provide current paperwork regarding such.
We recommend worming every other month. This is the schedule our herd is on and is best for this area. Horses hooves must be
maintained.
